Hello The Red Carpet Dress Shop,

I think Black Dresses work for all occassions. Last year I saw a photo of a bride who was dressed in a Black Wedding Gown. It was really well made, and the style suited the bride. It was teamed with the groom all in white and it looked perfect! Black is always good because it can be teamed with any shoes, and accessories.

    • Red Carpet Dresses says:

      Hi Lisa

Thats great the bride did that. I defintely dont think you need to have a white wedding dress. The truth is that white is not a colour that suits everyone. Black suits most people though, and its good to see people having their own style and doing their wedding the way they want to! And youre right, its very easy to accessorise with black!

  2. Harry Lynn says:

It is refreshing to see ladies in their black dresses all ” glammed ” up with high heels. We are losing our national sense of dressing up. Trackie pants and Teeshirts will never do to attend the Opera !

    • Red Carpet Dresses says:

Very true harry! Infact for the most part trackie pants should be for the home! I do hope no one is trying to wear them to the opera!

  3. Wow – look at those fab red shoes. What black dress wouldn’t look fantastic with those. Mind you, I’m not sure I could walk very far in them these days :(
You’re so right about accessories – I’ve got a beautiful orange leather hand bag that goes really well with black.
I went to an Intimo party a few weeks ago. They’ve got a super black dress that doubles as a skirt that can be worn short of long. I just had to have it. :)

    • Red Carpet Dresses says:

Wow I havent seen a dress like that before, what a great idea to be able to have it short or long to cover all bases Jan! Arent the heels to die for though? (Dont worry most of us couldnt wear them too long either – just for special occasions!)

  4. Carolyn says:

Once upon a time, black clothing was associated with funerals, however, we use them for much more. A black dress with the correct accessories, can be very stunning and flattering.

    • Red Carpet Dresses says:

Youre very right Carolyn, black used to only be worn for mourning. However I’m glad we moved past that stage and were able to embrace it fully! Although I dont believe that someone should dress entirely in everything in black! Thats why as you say the correct accessories bring a wow factor to the outfit!
